Community First Yorkshire's 'Good Life' Event returns to Hovingham Village Hall on Saturday 25 June 10am-3pm.
The aim of the Good Life event is to bring together groups and people from across Ryedale to share activities and services that promote living well in a rural area. Activities being demonstrated may include things like gardening, crafting, food, and tips and information about living green. The event is aimed at people of all ages from across Ryedale.
Community First Yorkshire are looking for groups, organisations and individuals from across Ryedale who have something interesting to share with local people. It is free to take part, and if you do sell a product it is an opportunity to showcase this, however it is important that on the day you are able to talk about what you do and ideally provide either a ‘have a go activity’ for people to take part in or are happy to demonstrate what you do.
Activities from previous events included:
Allotment and small holding workshops
Apple pressing
Information on volunteering locally
Willow weaving
Nature walks
Wildflower planting
Beekeeping
Composting
Recycling
Making your own planters
Quilting
Local cycling schemes and groups
Keeping alpacas
Bread making
Information on carers support services and many more
There is space inside the hall as well as a limited amount of outdoor space for activities. CFY are also hoping to have a dedicated space for families and children.
If you would like a stall at the event please contact Leah Furniss, Community First Yorkshire Development Officer: Furniss.leah@communityfirtsyorkshire.org.uk
